Polaroid is not dead...it just looks funny

In October 2008 The Impossible Project saved the last Polaroid production plant for integral instant film in Enschede in the Netherlands and started to invent and produce totally new instant film materials for traditional Polaroid cameras.

In 2010 Impossible saved analog instant photography from extinction by releasing various, brand new and unique instant films, which are available world wide via the internet.

According to their webite "... Impossible prevents more than 300.000.000 perfectly functioning Polaroid cameras from becoming obsolete, changes the world of photography and keeps variety, tangibility and analogue creativity and possibilites alive".

Compared to the film made by Polaroid, the Impossible Project films come in a muted black and white or color for 600 series, SPECTRA and Type 80 & 100 film packs..

Homeland Security To Allow Photography Outside Federal Buildings

It has always been accepted that one can photograph, without fear of harrassment, anything visible from public property.

The Federal Protective Service has agreed under a legal settlement with photographer Antonio Musumeci to send written instructions to all its officers and employees stating that individuals have a "general right to photograph the exterior of federal courthouses from publicly accessible spaces."

Musumeci won a lawsuit against FPS, a division of the Department of Homeland Security, after his arrest last November for taking photos in front of a federal courthouse in lower Manhattan.
